Dental cosmetic bonding is very similar to sculpture in your mouth. What I mean but that is what we are using cosmetic filing materials similar to white filling you have in a back tooth but we have whole palate of materials with different translucency opacities, all different shades, and so we will use just like and artist would use to paint a picture a hole variety of tints, opaque’s different types of these material in order to mimic what mother nature gave us. We can make such a huge difference. People who you know their teeth came in with a white spot or a brown spot, right on the front of their tooth and they live with that for years, and you can just very gently remove the outer discolored layer of the enamel and replace that with cosmetic bonding. A lot of times, you don’t even need to be anesthetized or numbed to receive cosmetic bonding because it is often added,  to your teeth and that is a simple procedure that changes how someone feel about themselves overtime they smile and talk to people.

SMILE MAKEOVER WITH COSMETIC BONDING:

PATIENT HISTORY: Andrea was referred to Dr. Nielson by a local pediatric dentist. She had chipped her front teeth when she was a child and had received bonding many years ago that she was never pleased with. She desired a conservative, inexpensive solution to restore her smile to her previous, youthful appearance.

TREATMENT: Direct cosmetic bonding was placed over 10 of Andrea’s teeth to completely rejuvenate her smile. Very little to no drilling was necessary.

FIXING CHIPPED TEETH WITH COSMETIC BONDING:

PATIENT HISTORY: Isabel fell at the playground and chipped her front tooth. Her tooth was not loose and did not need a root canal. Due to Isabel’s young age and strong remaining tooth structure, repairing her tooth with cosmetic bonding was the best choice.

TREATMENT: Using a special layering technique with many shades and translucencies of materials, Dr. Nielson was able to recreate the broken portion of Isabel’s tooth.
