Straighten your smile with veneers for crooked teeth in Phoenix, AZ

Straighten Your Smile with Veneers for Crooked Teeth in Phoenix, AZ Area

There’s no more genuine way to show how happy you are than a big, toothy grin. Unfortunately, people with crooked teeth may not have the confidence to go all-in for a smile. Life Smile Dental Care can help. Dr. Timothy Schmidt offer veneers to treat crooked teeth for patients in Phoenix, AZ, and other cosmetic and general dentistry procedures to improve your oral health and enhance your smile.

Discreet restorations

Veneers are thin porcelain overlays crafted to fit over the front of your teeth. The porcelain perfectly mimics the natural shade of your teeth to blend in seamlessly. They are an efficient alternative to orthodontics for improving the appearance of mildly crooked teeth. Braces and aligner trays can take months and, in some cases, over a year to achieve results, but porcelain veneers can be crafted in as little as two weeks to hide small gaps in your teeth and straighten your smile.

Veneers are also an effective solution to brighten yellowed teeth. While professional whitening can remove staining from the surface of the teeth, it cannot treat discoloration caused by worn enamel. Veneers can hide this staining and add some support to fragile teeth worn down. They are a durable, stain-resistant restoration that can provide a total makeover to your smile. With proper care, veneers can last for twenty years or longer before they need replacement.

Preparing for your veneers

Dr. Timothy Schmidt will evaluate your teeth and determine if veneers are right for you. If you have large gaps, dental crowding, malocclusion, or teeth that are too crooked to support the veneers, he may recommend a different approach. Because crooked teeth are often susceptible to tooth decay and gum infection, you will need a thorough cleaning before preparing your teeth, and Dr. Timothy Schmidt will need to treat any underlying tooth decay or gum disease first.

Veneers are custom-crafted to fit your teeth and create a natural-looking smile. During your first visit, Dr. Timothy Schmidt will scrape off a thin layer of enamel from your teeth to make space for the veneers. Once your teeth are prepped, he will take impressions to send to the dental lab to create your restorations. Patients with sensitive teeth can choose to have temporary veneers placed to protect their exposed teeth. After about two weeks, you can return to the office, and Dr. Timothy Schmidt will and make any adjustments you need and cement them in place

Caring for your veneers

Once your veneers are in place, you’ll need to practice good oral hygiene to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Bacterial infection can cause your teeth to shift and change shape, and your veneers may fall out. The best way to protect your restoration is to brush and floss daily, and schedule 2-3 dental cleanings each year.

You should also use extra care when biting into crunchy or chewy foods. While your veneers are durable, they can break if you bite directly into an apple or raw vegetables. Cut raw fruits and veggies into smaller bites to protect your veneers.

Life Smiles Dental Care is a hygiene-focused practiced that puts preventative care first. With regular cleanings, thorough examinations, and optimum at-home care, you can keep your smile bright for years to come. Contact our office in Phoenix, AZ, today at (602) 786-5484 to schedule an appointment
